Bishop Games Brings Light Fall Demo to PAX South

Use the darkness in classic 2D side-scrolling style with Light Fall.

Canada-based Bishop Games has brought Light Fall to PAX South 2018. The game has already garnered numerous nominations for game awards and has won the “Best Hardcore Game” award at the Game Connection Europe 2017 Development Awards in October 2017. According to the developers, you have to save the world of Numbra from impending doom.

Explore the Forgotten World of Numbra to uncover your mysterious past and save the land from an imminent threat. In this land of eternal night, you will rely on your Shadow Core to brave the many challenges and foes standing in your way. Do you have what it takes to survive in perilous Numbra?

In classic 2D side-scrolling fashion, you play as an unnamed protagonist who takes control of the Shadow Core, which helps the protagonist manipulate the environment around them. Stryx, the owl and the game’s narrator, acts as the player’s sidekick and will compliment or mock you depending on your successes or failures. You can wander through the vast in-game world, which includes the Lunar Plain, the Marshlands of Sorrows, the Vipera’s Forest and the Unknown Depths. Using the Shadow Core, players can discover shortcuts, alternative paths, hidden collectables and easter eggs.

“We are finishing up some stuff on the last boss of the game and entering the final polishing phase of production. We have been working on the game since March 2014, and it feels surreal to finally see it all in one piece,” said Benoit Archer, co-founder of Bishop Games. “Looking back at our humble beginnings, it feels surreal to see how our game and our studio have evolved these past years. Three inexperienced dreamers that became a full-time team of five, surrounded by great partners and mentors across the industry,” he continued.

The game is coming to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC in March 2018.
