Call of Duty: WW2 Nazi Zombies Trailer Shows Off New DLC

A new chapter of Nazi Zombies adds a new story, new weapons, and a new Zombie.

It was revealed last week that Call of Duty: WW2 managed to become the best-selling game of 2017, and now Activision is in the position to continue growing the player base and building user engagement throughout the rest of this year and beyond. After all, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 was still a 2017 chart-topper. In order to incentivize fans into action, the Activision and Sledgehammer Games have now revealed a brand new trailer for the first-person shooter’s new Zombies DLC known as The Darkest Shore.

As seen in the latest Call of Duty: WW2 trailer, The Darkest Shore is the next chapter of the Nazi Zombies story, and it’s set a few days after the disaster at Mittelburg, with the heroes discovering that Doktor Straub is hiding out on an island north of Germany. In typical zombie-horror fashion, the island is surrounded by nearly impenetrable fog, while also being guarded by both the Luftwaffe and the Kriegsmarine. Naturally, considering the game mode, the whole area is also infested with hordes of the undead. Check it out below:

The fog not only adds a creepy atmosphere but also the added challenge of not being able to see the enemy until they are right on top of you. Sledgehammer has added a new weapon the ‘rip-saw’ which is part LMG and part buzz saw to fight zombies at a distance and up close. They have also added a new type of Zombie which will behave much more strategically than others.

Call of Duty: WW2‘s The Darkest Shore will be included as a portion of the new DLC for the game, which has been titled The Resistance. Per Activision’s timed-exclusive deal with Sony, the expansion will release first for PS4 on January 30, 2018, with launches on PC and Xbox One 30 days later. The forthcoming expansion pack will also include three multiplayer maps and will feature a new War Mode mission called Operation Intercept.

It’s been said that Call of Duty: WW2 has already managed to successfully bring the franchise back to its roots and breathe new life into it by delivering a solid single-player campaign, an addicting multiplayer that isn’t too over the top, and of course, a fun, fresh Nazi Zombies mode. So, with The Resistance DLC set to bring even more content to the game’s popular Zombies mode, it will be interesting to see if The Darkest Shore attract even more new players to the title and keep the die-hard players playing.
